Copper Oxychloride 50%/85% WP are wettable powder fungicides containing 50% or 85% active ingredient Copper Oxychloride, an inorganic copper-based contact fungicide widely used for controlling fungal diseases in crops.
• Active Ingredient: 50% or 85% Copper Oxychloride, a copper compound that exerts fungicidal activity through releasing copper ions.
• Mechanism of Action: As a contact fungicide, it acts by releasing Cu2+ when in contact with moisture on plant surfaces. Cu2+binds to functional groups in fungal proteins (e.g., sulfhydryl groups), disrupting enzyme systems and damaging cell membranes, thus inhibiting fungal growth, spore germination, and infection.
• Target Diseases: Effective against a range of fungal diseases, including downy mildew (e.g., grape downy mildew), early blight (e.g., tomato early blight), late blight (e.g., potato late blight), leaf spot, anthracnose, and rust in various crops.
• Applicable Crops: Suitable for vegetables (tomato, cucumber, pepper), fruits (grape, citrus, apple), field crops (potato, tobacco), and ornamental plants.
• Application Methods: Foliar spraying. Dilute the product with water according to the recommended dosage (lower dosage for 85% WP due to higher concentration), stir thoroughly to form a uniform suspension, and spray evenly on crop foliage, ensuring full coverage of leaves and stems. Apply at the early stage of disease occurrence or as a preventive measure.
Precautions:
Avoid applying during high temperature, high humidity, or strong sunlight to prevent phytotoxicity (copper ions may cause leaf burn in sensitive crops).
Do not mix with alkaline pesticides (e.g., lime sulfur) to prevent decomposition of active ingredients.
Some crops (e.g., cruciferous vegetables at seedling stage) may be sensitive; conduct a small-scale test before large-area application.
Toxic to aquatic organisms; avoid contamination of water sources. Wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles during application.
